The Chapel Oaks Adventurer Club kicked off the 2018-2019 year with a joint registration pool party with the Pathfinders. We enjoyed a great turnout! There are 51 children enrolled in Adventurers this year, which is an increase from last year. Our theme this year is Safari Creation and each month we have exciting Christ-centered activities planned for our Adventurers.

We have also added a new program series for the parents the first Friday of each month entitled: “Help! I’m a Parent – Christian Parenting in the Real World”. This series was created by Drs. Claudio and Pamela Consuegra, who serve as the Directors of Family Ministries for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. While the parents attend the parenting class, the kids do an honor award and then the families come together and enjoy a fellowship meal.

This fall our Adventurers will visit Trinity Nursing Home and color with the residents. We will participate in a family bike ride and picnic. Then later in October, we will team up with the Pathfinders to do door-to-door canned-goods collections.

As part of our Safari Creation theme, we are super excited to have the Kansas City Zoomobile come to our December club meeting at Chapel Oaks. The Zoomobile will have trained zoo instructors, live animals, and fun and educational animal activities for our Adventurers and their families.

Spring will also feature a host of fun activities, including our annual family campout. Each month as we come together to fellowship, we will have the honor of watching each child further develop their heavenly characteristics as they earn their Adventurer awards and prepare for their heavenly reward!

The Adventurer Pledge says, “Because Jesus loves me, I will always do my best.” This year, as we continue to work together to do our best, it is our prayer that each and every day we will draw closer and closer to Jesus!
